Life isn’t alway a breezy cakewalk. For many, there’s been a point where life throws them a hurdle that can’t seem to be crossed, but through their strength and determination they find themselves on the other side of that hurdle. For those who want to hear inspiring stories of those who’ve struggled and persevered, come to the Stories of Strength Workshop from 3:30-6:00pm at the Wood Center Conference Room B. For more details, contact the UAF Nanook Diversity and Action Center. Contact information available through the main UAF website.-Alex Frania, Photo Editor

If you’re me, you’re using this month to gear up for the sheer amount of upcoming birthdays in your family. If you aren’t, the first Student Veteran’s of UAF meeting takes place from 1-2 p.m. today. I’m not a vet, but I was raised by one and I know there are several folks attending school who have prior military service. Consider stopping by to meet some people and strengthen the community. More details are available on our university’s orgsync site. -Kyrie Long, Editor In Chief

It’s the start of a new week, our second week of school this semester. Take a breath and relax a little. I know it’s always stressful starting off the school year and some of us (me, I’m talking about me) feel inclined to take on a little more than they can handle. Use the end of the day today to grab a hot drink with a friend at Arctic Java once all your classes are over.-Kyrie Long, Editor in Chief
